With the opening of our new Las Vegas showroom, PSDC has a strong presence in four major markets: Greater New York, Chicago + Midwest, Las Vegas and Florida. In each of these markets, we are actively engaged members of the community, while providing locally-based, prompt and reliable support to our clients.
As a team, we seek to share local insights and project information with one another to form a unique and highly informed perspective. The most common threads among the team is a commitment to supporting the execution of beautiful design, while working tirelessly on behalf of our clients and the brands we represent.
Meet the Team
Philip Stein
FOUNDER / OWNER
Philip Stein was hired into the design world while working as a waiter at the age of 19. Beginning as an apprentice in the warehouse and sample room of Duralee Fabrics before managing the state of New York from Brooklyn to Buffalo, he earned his stripes learning from some of the most seasoned and methodical sales people of another generation.
Following a successful effort covering the NYC metro market for Osborne & Little, he took on his first national sales management position at O&L before diversifying his experiences in similar leadership roles with luxury lifestyle brand Juliska and world-renowned textile designer, Madeline Weinrib.
In 2014, Phil founded PSDC with a vision to offer a fresh solution and unique approach to how quality brands are represented and how projects are supported.
Phil is a proud father of three who loves family time, being a miserable golfer and camping deserted islands. While some wonder if he studies material composition as much as he studies the composition of handmade pasta, what’s certain is that he is tirelessly committed to supporting our clients and their projects to achieve exceptional results. His great passion is creating impactful connections and memorable experiences for the design community and those he cares about.
Dorothy Kostek
MANAGING DIRECTOR
One of the design industry’s most respected and accomplished leaders, Dorothy’s professionalism, creative problem-solving and attention to detail ensures a smooth operation and best results here at PSDC. A Connecticut native, Dorothy loves the New England coast, ski trips and time with her family.
JoHanna Perrachon
MIDWEST TERRITORY MANAGER
From a very young age JoHanna has had a passion for the arts. Whether it was exciting” dress up” ideas or rearranging the entire house with her sisters, she always had an eye for design. The year after she graduated from college, JoHanna moved to Paris. From the city’s beautiful architecture, effortlessly chic interiors, and the je ne sais quoi of Parisian fashion the creative inspiration was endless. The museum visits were on repeat, and this period abroad reaffirmed her love of the arts.
Fast forward to today, with a few sales roles, and a stint as a flight attendant in between, JoHanna has finally landed “home.” Working with beauty every day, offering alluring and seamless textile solutions, and of course creating a unique and memorable experience is what she has always dreamed of doing, and she is beyond excited to be doing exactly that at Philip Stein Design Collective.
Maddie Asebrook
MIDWEST TERRITORY MANAGER
Growing up in Ohio, Maddie found a love of both the big city and textiles quickly after a few travels and moved to Chicago without looking back. Several years in the fashion industry and her textile obsession eventually evolved to a career in interiors. After working in a large showroom, she and Phil met in 2020 to build the Midwest chapter of PSDC, representing our lines in Illinois/Wisconsin. We very recently opened our brand new showroom in Chicago’s West Loop and would love to have you by!
Kara Zmudka
WESTERN SALES MANAGER (NEVADA, COLORADO AND UTAH)
Shaun Cronin
FLORIDA TERRITORY MANAGER
Shaun began his career in the luxury design industry at the age of 19 with Duralee Fabrics. Having the privilege of being taught by industry legends, he quickly gained a passion for the design process and a commitment to building strong relationships with his customers. Over the course of 20 years, Shaun built a strong reputation in the Florida market representing fabric, furniture, drapery hardware, and wallcovering brands.
Following a rewarding career in textiles, Shaun took on a role as VP of sales for a FL based apparel brand and built a successful sales team catering to the outdoor apparel industry.
With a strong desire to get back to his roots, he had the unique opportunity to partner with his childhood best friend Phil Stein to expand the PSDC brand to the Florida market.
Nicole Allen
SALES & MARKETING SUPPORT
Nicole comes fresh from earning her BFA in Design History and Practice from Parsons School of Design in New York City. During her time in school, Nicole worked in a range of sales roles that have added to her background and perspective within the design industry, as well as focusing specifically on studies such as visual culture and design theory. Nicole's journey into the creative world began in small town Burlington, Connecticut, where her yearning to be a part of the creative community ignited. This early passion evolved into a dedicated pursuit of design education, leading her to excel academically and develop a keen eye for the intersection of aesthetics and meaning. She is thrilled to make her professional debut within a sales and marketing role at Philip Stein Design Collective.
